THE mayor, Javier Carnero, announced the inauguration of the new retirement home in Benalmadena this summer.
The office of social welfare has been carrying out a campaign to organise courses and activities, with the objective to involve all the older people. In this sense, the councillor informed that the council of Benalmadena had called for a meeting with all the older women of the town to talk about the different activities and variety of programmes such as yoga and manual workshops.
The retirement home has two floors and a balcony. An elevator will provide an easy access to all floors for those with limited mobility. The budget for this project is 600,000 euros. An investment that has been taken by the owners of the hotel Aleysa Playa, thanks to an agreement reached by the town hall.
The announcement from the councillor came during the agreement between the council and the Obra Social of Unicaja. This establishes a grant of 60,000 euros that will cover the cost of furnishing the home. |
