Golf Experience would like to send its commiserations to all our clients on the other side of the Atlantic. It's hard to know what to say so we'll just leave it at that and say "roll on the K Club 2006"!
As we prepare for the busiest months of the golfing Calendar here are a few development of interest:
Golf Experience sign contract with AVIS
While our regular clients will be know of the excellent relationship we have with our preferred car-hire suppliers Espacar and Europa Rent-A-Car on the Costa del Sol we have decided to add world number one Avis to our supplier list. This is really to facilitate our growing American and Asian client base who wish to pick cars up in Madrid, Barcelona and other major cities. This facility also allows for pick-up and drop off between Portugal and Spain with a minimal surcharge. It also gives us access to cars in the Canaries and all major Spanish and Portuguese cities.
Los Naranjos bites the bullet
A courageous decision by Los Naranjos Golf and Country Club to close the popular course between now and the end of October has come as a shock to many. Los Naranjos has suffered form poor green conditions at the end of the last two summers.
A complete re-build of the greens has been ordered and we look forward to a great outcome. All Golf Experience clients reserved on Los Naranjos have been re-booked on nearby courses.
In a seperate development, a number of courses including Estepona and Monte Mayor where in the front-line of defence against recent forest fires.
Santa Maria drops price
Santa Maria has reversed a previous decision to raise prices for 2005 and have instead decided to hold them at the 2004 level.
New Hotels
3 new hotels of interest to golfers will open their doors in the next couple of months.
Almenara Resort near Sotogrande will open a new 200 room 4 star hotel near the existing 5 star resort and spa.
The new 4 star Balcelo Marbella Golf Hotel with 180 room has just opened overlooking Guadalmina’s North Course.
And the new 5 star Hotel Elba Resort and Spa on the beach between Estepona and La Duquesa is another significant addition to the pool of hotels.
New Air Service
Shannon Airport has finally got a direct air service to Malaga. Operated on Saturdays by Eujet this is a very welcome service for our long-suffering clients on the west coast of Ireland.

October 28th – 31st Volvo Masters at Valderrama
November 16th to 21 World Cup Championship at Real Club de Golf Seville
Dates in General
We would ask golfers who are often supporters of other sporting coded to take into account future sporting fixtures when planning a golf trip. We often have clients wishing to change tee-times because they didn’t realise such-and-such a football, Rugby, Cricket or even Golf (Ryder Cup for example) tournament is on. While we do our best to facilitate these changes it simple isn’t always possible.
