It’s a year since the El Atabal desalination plant came online in Málaga and the quality of the tap water in the city improved considerably.
Despite that, sales of mineral water in the city have continued to increase, with supermarkets reporting increased sales of up to 30%.
The hardness and salt levels of the tap water have fallen by 65 and 68% respectively.
