Wexford footballer Willie Carley is to sit out his side's Allianz National Football League campaign.
The news comes in the aftermath of boss Pat Roe being told that Leigh O'Brien was also withdrawing from his panel ahead of their NFL assault.
With Robert Hassey also absent, Wexford will not be at full strength throughout their Division 2B campaign, which will include games against Galway, Armagh and Laois.
On the plus side, Ciaran Deeley has returned to Ireland from Finland and is training again.
Carley, brother of hurler Paul, started in all of his side's 2004 championship games - mostly at midfield - but a long-term knee problem has forced him to withdraw.
"There's no doors shut on anyone and if Willie can get himself right, then we'd be interested in talking to him," selector Ger Halligan said.
"Unfortunately, his knees have been giving him problems for some time and the advice he got was to rest as long as possible."
