France's David Fretigne, who had won the opening super special, claimed victory on his Yamaha in Sunday's third stage of the Dakar Rally around Granada, southern Spain.
Fretigne timed 7min 57sec to beat out KTM riders Alfie Cox of South Africa by two seconds and France's Cyril Depres by three seconds in the 10km timed section of the 563km stage to Rabat.
Britain's Colin McRae won the car race, clocking 7:48, ahead of Frenchman Stephane Peterhansel by six seconds and Ari Vatanen of Finland by 10 seconds.
