With Wicklow and Meath's meeting having been postponed, only four games took place on Sunday, after which Offaly were top of the pile on Division 2A. The Faithful County were too good for local rivals Westmeath in Mullingar, and enjoyed a 3-18 to 2-8 success.
It seems almost certain that the Faithful County will emerge best in this division and thus return to Division 1, and considering Westmeath are possibly their main rivals, this was a big win.
::: Also in 2A, Derry fought hard to beat Roscommon 2-12 to 0-14 in Banagher. The Oak Leaf led by 1-8 to 0-7 at the break and in many respects, it was a battle of two rival players rather than teams: Derry's inspirational forward, Geoffrey McGonagle, scored 1-8 of his side's tally, while Ros ace Darragh Muvley contributed 0-11 for the visitors.
McGonagle notched Derry's first goal on 24 minutes after he resisted Michael Keaveney's challenge. The Connacht men had drawn level with ten minutes of the game left, before Gary Biggs scored a second goal for Derry - albeit a very scrappy one - to help them win.
::: In Division 2B, Kerry hit 6-19 to Sligo's 4-8 in Kilmoyley to record their first victory this season. The Kingdom led by 3-10 to 2-3 at the break and continued their goal spree in the second half.
::: Kehoe Cup winners Carlow enjoyed a fruitful trip to Ruislip and a 2-16 to 0-9 win over London, who had surprised Meath last week. London trailed by 1-12 to 0-7 at the interval and struggled thereafter.
