Essential Worldwide is pleased to present the following update on our latest property market: Morocco
A fully-furnished four-bedroom show villa has opened for viewing at Mediterrania-Saidia, the €1.6 billion golf and marina resort taking shape along six kilometres of the 14 kilometre golden sandy beach at Saidia, a quiet seaside town on northern Morocco’s Mediterranean coast.
The first of 3,000 homes to be completed at Mediterrania-Saidia, where investors can buy apartments, villas, apartment hotel properties and land for building, the 281 square metre show villa has been designed in a traditional Moroccan style.
Occupying an 823 square metre plot, planted with lawns, palm trees, gardens and parking space for two cars behind a gate fitted with an entry-phone security system, the property has a spacious open-plan lounge-dining room, as well as a fitted kitchen and an en-suite bathroom with ‘his and hers’ basins.
Complementing the contemporary furnishings in much of the show villa, its drawing room is dressed in the traditional Moroccan style. In addition to a spacious solarium, a terrace at first floor level overlooks one of the three 18-hole golf courses at the heart of the resort.
Mediterrania-Saidia is 40 minutes by road from Morocco’s international airport at Oujda, but this will be reduced to 30 minutes once road improvements, currently underway, have been completed. The airport is expected to be a new destination for budget airlines flying direct from the UK in less than three hours following the signing of the open-skies agreement signed in Marrakech in December, 2005.
This means that European and Moroccan airlines will be able to fly between any airports in Europe and Morocco, the first non-European country to conclude such a global air transport agreement with the EU. It is expected to come into force in 2006, following its ratification by the Morocco parliament.
