Dear Reverend Hunter
"...an African election observer told the BBC torture was "the order of the day" in Zimbabwe" -BBC News Online
Since we last wrote to you about Zimbabwe in April, the situation has deteriorated to a horrifying point.
Today, the people of Zimbabwe go to the polls. In the run-up to the election, the government has systematically beaten opponents, burnt them from their homes and killed them.
It's sickening. A few days ago I received a list of 85 confirmed deaths from this post-election chaos. They are all opposition members or families of opposition members, including a 4 year old child who was burnt to death in his house as he slept. His crime? His parents voted for the MDC.
This week our partners in Zimbabwe have requested more funds to help those who have had to flee, families of those killed and some higher profile activists who need safe accommodation in hiding for the foreseeable future.
As a small charity, we simply cannot meet all the cries for help. But equally, because we are small, we can get your donation, all of it, to where it is most needed.
Viciously repressed, their economy impoverished, the people of Zimbabwe need our help. Please, if you can, give a donation and/or pass this message on to others. Thank you.

With kind regards
