Experts from the regional government, the Junta de Andalucía, have started to value the art collection removed from the home of the man considered to be at the centre of the Malaya Marbella corruption case, the municipal real estate assessor, Juan Antonio Roca.
The Culture delegate for the Junta in Málaga, Franciso López, has already made it clear that the collection belongs to someone who has been well advised, who has some knowledge about art. So far police have removed 161 works of art from Roca’s homes including a Picasso, Miró and Serrano. The paintings will all be stored in the warehouse of the Málaga Fine Arts Museum while the case continues.
Meanwhile the Marbella businessman who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with alleged bribery, has been named. Angel Rodríguez Alonso was released without bail, but the charges against him, relating to the construction of a geriatric home and ambulance station at Las Chapas in Mabella, still stand.
