The Izquierda Unida party in Málaga says an in-depth investigation should be carried out into the physical assaults experienced by some residents of Alhaurín de la Torre regarding the quarry issue.
José Antonio Castro, provincial coordinator for the left wing coalition, says the party will ask the Málaga prosecutor’s office to apply for court authorisation to carry out telephone tapping as part of the investigation.
Castro says more than 70 people have reported that they have been attacked ‘for expressing a certain opinion about the quarries.
The deputy government representative in Málaga, Hilario López Luna, will be requesting a meeting with the Civil Guard’s Colonel-in-Chief for the province, to discuss the situation, according to Castro.
