The Spanish seek good weather, good food, a wide choice of cultural events and courteous hosts when they go on holiday, according to a recent survey. They find Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and the Basque Country the least hospitable. The Canary Islands have the best weather, Galicia has the best food and the people there are the most hospitable, but for culture Madrid can’t be beaten. And Andalucía is Number One for leisure and recreational activities.
